We were extremely blessed this week to welcome Archpriest Maximus Saikaly of St. Anthony the Great Antiochian Orthodox Church in Halifax, who visited Holy Transfiguration Antiochian Orthodox Monastery and celebrated the first Divine Liturgy ever served in our monastery chapel.
It is difficult to put into words what this moment meant. What began as a hope and a prayer has now been blessed by the offering of the Holy Eucharist. The chapel that stood quiet for so long was filled with the voice of the Gospel, the fragrance of incense, and the presence of Christ among His people.
We thank Fr. Maximus for his fatherly love, his prayers, and for making the journey to be with us. May God grant him many years!
Please keep the Monastery in your prayers as we continue this work entrusted to us.
Christ is in our midst!
