Glory to God for all things! This Friday evening marked a historic moment for Holy Transfiguration Antiochian Orthodox Monastery: the very first retreat ever held here, a retreat for the Young Adult Ministry (YAM) of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Our young adults arrived full of joy and excitement, and we began by sharing dinner together around one table, as a family in Christ.
We then gathered in the chapel for Small Compline, the first ever served within its walls. To hear these prayers rise for the first time from our young people was a gift we will long remember.
The evening closed with an “Ask Abouna” session, where our conversation turned to a beautiful and searching question: how does a person recognize a calling to the monastic life? The openness and sincerity of our youth was truly moving.
Thank you to everyone who came and made this first evening so special. Please keep our young adults in your prayers as the retreat continues!
